The Bauer Bandage? is a sorption covering bandage / wound care dressing that is made of activated carbon textile. This is the first activated carbon fabric created for direct contact with a wound surface.

This bandage is excellent for the treatment of bedsores, varicose ulcers, diabetic ulcers and defects, decubitus ulcers, burns, impetigo traumatic changes, infected operation wounds, secreting infected wounds, excreting tumor defects, abcess wounds and other problems. It is ideal for the treatment of bedsores and diabetes-related skin problems, such as trophic wounds or non-healing wounds and chronic wounds.

This material is designed to promote faster healing of wounds, to help prevent infections, treat infections, and lower cost of treatment of wounds.

The Bauer Bandage is absorbent, soft, porous and permeable, extremely effective for absorption of organic matter, micro-organisms, toxins and unpleasant odor.

This wound care dressing is a two-layer covering. The top layer is a non-woven white textile made of a mixture of viscose and polypropylene fabric, forming an inactivated vehicle for a black sorbent. The sorbent is an elastic textile with a macroscopic smooth surface made of thermally processed cellulose hydrate fabric.

This product is part of a new generation of wound care technologies and materials. Bandages and wound coverings are perhaps oldest and most taken-for-granted part of wound treatment. The Bauer Bandage has been developed for the purpose of:

* lowering overall cost of treatment by consuming fewer supplies while maintaining a wound healing environment.
* improving quality of treatment and alleviating pain
* enabling clinicians to be more efficient and effective
